QA Engineer

Our client seeks an Automation Tester to design automation testing plans and develop automation test scripts for multiple technical products / services (pre, during & post deployment) in both ‘Run & Change’ contexts and align to chosen application testing frameworks & guidelines. Testing may apply to all or a combination of the following front-end, back-end, integration, performance, scalability and regression testing of solutions. This entails full responsibility for ensuring products are protected through quantifiable test coverage & metrics.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Build up and lead the Testing Team to the success of the project.
  • Defining the scope of testing within the context of each release / delivery.
  • Deploying and managing resources for testing.
  • Applying the appropriate test measurements and metrics in the product and the Testing Team.
  • Formulation and implementation of Software Testing strategies.
  • Resource management (allocation, monitoring, motivating, etc.)
  • Preparation/review of test plans and reports.
  • Training and mentoring.
  • Responsible for defining QA strategy, approach and execution in development projects.
  • Focus on continuous QA improvements including usage of appropriate testing tools, test techniques, test automation.
  • Building and maintenance of quality standards as well as enforcing technical and testing standards.
  • Monitoring of all the QA activities, test results, leaked defects, root cause analysis and identifying areas of improvement.
  • Implement steps required to improve the processes.
  • Be an escalation point for all matters related to testing and quality assurance and operate as a primary point of contact for the QA teams.
  • Gather and present testing metrics and testing activities for the projects to key stakeholders.
  • Test Data management.
  • Lead the automation testing effort to convert manual tests to automated tests.
  • Apply, design and develop automated testing strategies and build automated testing framework in conjunction with automation lead.

Key critical skills and experience required:

  • Payments experience required.
  • Min 5 years testing experience.
  • Systems testing, systems integration testing.
  • Automation testing, user acceptance testing.
  • Manual and Automated testing.
  • Structured test methods and processes.
  • Proven experience of testing complex user interfaces.
  • Min 2 years in a Test Lead/Management position.
  • Test Environment Management.
  • Testing in a retail / financial sector.
  • Prior programming experience with basic knowledge in coding languages, Java, C#.
  • Well versed in web services paradigms such as REST and protocols such as HTTP.
  • Experience working on web and windows applications.
  • Proficient in multiple forms of test approaches for application testing including functional, cross-browser compatibility, mobile, and integration testing etc.
  • Proficient in basic SQL operations such as joins and views.
  • Experience with SOAP, REST, RPC or other client-server API testing.
  • Experience with toolstack TFS, JIRA, Test Rail and Confluence.
  • Experience in Git or other source code management systems.
  • Comfortable in AGILE development environments and cross-functional team structures.
  • Experience with end-to-end SDLC, testing methodologies and test phases, including unit, assembly, system, integration, regression testing.
  • Strong analytical abilities, troubleshooting skills, and attention to detail.
